UC Street Scene
The set for Street Scene was designed and built by Legend Theatrical in the scene shop and transported to UC Santa Cruz for installation. It was a challenging project because do to size constraints the entire set was not able to be completely assembled in our shop prior to load in. It was all built in pieces and then transported and assembled on site. We believe strongly in the "measure twice, cut once" philosophy, so the set went together perfectly and was able to be set up in a matter of hours.
We used "Vacuform" bricks in building this set and the walls ended up looking very realistic. We were even told that many audience members wondered "why in the world was the set built out of real bricks!"
